DBM releases full P200-B for Social Amelioration Program

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released a total of P200 billion to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for its Social Amelioration Program, covering two months of cash assistance to low-income households.

On April 17, DBM released an additional P96 billion to DSWD, bringing the total release to P200 billion since the enactment of the Bayanihan to Heal as One Act on March 24.

The first tranche of P100 billion was released on April 2.

This program aims to assist approximately 18 million low-income households nationwide, including 4.4 million families who are existing beneficiaries of the Expanded Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
