Palace optimistic: 'Worst of pandemic's economic impact over'

The Philippine government is more optimistic about the country's economic recovery despite a recent Social Weather Stations survey showing that 40% of Filipinos expect the economy to worsen in the next year.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque acknowledged the pessimism but emphasized that the worst has already passed and the only way to go is up as businesses gradually reopen.

Roque noted that while there may be risks with people returning to work, the overall outlook is positive and improving.
