BSP gov optimistic PH economy won't worsen in next year

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno says the Philippine economy will not worsen further over the next year despite a recent Social Weather Stations survey showing that 40% of Filipinos expect economic conditions to deteriorate.

Diokno, in response to the SWS survey which found 24% expecting no change and 30% anticipating improvement, assured that based on current data, the economy is moving towards recovery.

The SWS poll, conducted via mobile phone interviews from July 3-6 among 1,555 adults nationwide, recorded the highest economic pessimism rate since June 2008.
