SWS: 57% of Filipinos believe worst is yet to come amid COVID-19

More than half of Filipino adults believe the worst is yet to come amid the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey conducted via mobile phone from July 3 to 6.

The survey found that 57% of respondents hold this view, up from 47% in May.

Metro Manila residents are the most pessimistic at 70%, followed by those in the Visayas at 61%. Balance Luzon and Mindanao have percentages of 56% and 49%, respectively.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque acknowledged the public's pessimism, attributing it to the difficulties brought about by the pandemic but stated that 'the worst is over.'.
