Palace dismisses Robredo’s COVID-19 suggestions as 'nothing new'

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque dismissed Vice President Leni Robredo's recommendations for improving the Philippines' COVID-19 response as 'nothing new', stating that all her suggestions have already been implemented by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID).

Robredo had sent a letter to Roque with proposals on test kit procurement, handling of locally stranded individuals, DOH case reporting, and service contracting for jeepney drivers affected by the pandemic.

Roque also noted that while Robredo suggested including the League of Cities of the Philippines in the IATF, the task force continues its policy of consulting local officials as resource persons.
