Palace disputes Drilon's claim IATF failed on COVID

Malacañang accused Senator Franklin Drilon of politicizing the government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic on Wednesday.

Drilon claimed that the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) failed to handle the crisis effectively, citing rising infection numbers.

Roque, IATF spokesperson and Duterte’s spokesman, disagreed with Drilon's assessment, highlighting the country's low mortality rate and good critical care capacity.

Roque also noted that most cases are mild or asymptomatic and argued against meeting a 3.5 million case projection made by UP.

He further accused Drilon of early politicking as a member of the opposition and urged setting aside politics to address the pandemic.
