Palace: Not yet time to scrap alert level system

Malacaōang said it is not yet time to scrap the five-tier alert level system as COVID-19 vaccination rates need to be increased in other regions despite high coverage in NCR.

Acting presidential spokesperson Karlo Nograles stated that while NCR has a high vaccination rate, other regions still require significant improvement.

'We will not remove the alert level system. Just in case a new variant of concern or interest would come, we can return to Alert Level 2,' said Nograles.
