NTF assures vaccine rollout continues under NCR ECQ

The National Task Force Against Covid-19 assures that vaccination will continue in Metro Manila despite the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) starting August 6.

Vaccine czar Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr. stated there would be no delays or stoppage of the vaccine rollout during ECQ and urged people to sign up for vaccinations.

Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque warned that active COVID-19 cases could reach 525,000 by end-September if NCR is not placed under ECQ, stressing the need for strict quarantine measures to protect citizens.

Roque also stated that half of Metro Manila’s target population could be fully vaccinated after a two-week ECQ period and that an additional four million doses will be distributed to local governments during this time.
