Malacañang supports INC's National Rally for Peace, suspends work and classes

Malacañang expressed support on Monday for the 'National Rally for Peace' organized by Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC), emphasizing that peaceful assembly is a fundamental, constitutionally protected right.

Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin assured all government agencies are prepared to assist in maintaining peace, managing traffic, and providing emergency services as INC members gather across the country.

The rally, which opposes Vice President Sara Duterte's impeachment and is favored by 40% of Filipinos, is expected to draw 500,000 to 1 million participants to Quirino Grandstand in Manila and other sites nationwide.

Bersamin stated that government agencies involved in peace and order should be ready to provide assistance whenever needed by fellow citizens during the assemblies.

Malacañang has suspended work in government offices and classes at all levels in Manila, Pasay City, and Davao City while raising its 'red' alert status to ensure comprehensive safety measures for the event.
