PAGASA issues thunderstorm warning for Metro Manila and nearby provinces

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has issued a thunderstorm warning for Metro Manila, Cavite, Batangas, Bulacan, Rizal, Laguna, Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Bataan, Zambales, Tarlac, and Pampanga effective Tuesday morning at 8:20 am.

Moderate to heavy rain showers with lightning and strong winds are expected in these areas within the next three hours.

PAGASA forecaster Aldczar Aurelio warned that Southern Luzon and Mindanao will experience cloudy to partly cloudy skies with possible thunderstorms on Tuesday.

The Ilocos Region, Apayao, and Abra are forecasted to have occasional rains due to the southwest monsoon, while Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, and the Cordillera Administrative Region will see cloudy skies with scattered rain and thunderstorms.

A Low Pressure Area near the Philippine area of responsibility was estimated to be 1,155 kilometers east-northeast of Extreme Northern Luzon as of 3 a.m. Tuesday.
