PAGASA monitors 1 LPA exiting PAR, new tropical depression forming

Two low pressure areas (LPAs) were being monitored by PAGASA on Tuesday, September 10, with one LPA having exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) and moving westward, while the other developed into a tropical depression.

The first LPA was located 710 kilometers northeast of Itbayat, Batanes - outside PAR - as of 2 pm on Tuesday, posing no direct threat to the country.

The newly formed tropical depression is expected to enter PAR on Thursday or Friday and could bring scattered rain and thunderstorms to parts of Mindanao, including Caraga and Davao Region, with warnings for possible flash floods and landslides.

In the meantime, the southwest monsoon (habagat) may cause cloudy skies with isolated rain showers in some areas while most regions will experience fair weather conditions.
