PAGASA warns rains, storms, flash floods due to Yagi, Habagat

PAGASA warned that the trough of Super Typhoon Yagi (formerly Enteng) and Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) would continue to bring rains over parts of Luzon starting Friday morning.

According to PAGASA's daily weather forecast, Super Typhoon Yagi was seen 1,000 kilometers west northwest of Central Luzon at around 3 p.m., with maximum sustained winds of 185 kph and gustiness up to 230 kph.

The Habagat will bring occasional rains over Pangasinan, Zambales, and Bataan, while Metro Manila, Cordillera Administrative Region, MIMAROPA, Cavite, Batangas, Batanes including Babuyan Islands, the rest of Ilocos Region, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms.

PAGASA advised the public to be cautious of possible flash floods or landslides due to heavy rainfall or severe thunderstorms in affected areas.

Strong winds with rough waters may continue in the western section of Luzon, while moderate to strong winds and moderate to rough seas will prevail in other parts of Luzon.
