Bebinca enters PAR as Tropical Storm Ferdie, brings heavy rains to MIMAROPA, Visayas, Bicol

Tropical Storm Bebinca and the Southwest Monsoon (habagat) continue to bring rains across parts of the Philippines, including Metro Manila.

Bebinca is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) between Friday evening and early Saturday morning as Tropical Storm Ferdie with maximum sustained winds of 85 kph and gusts up to 105 kph but will exit PAR early Saturday morning.

Enhanced by Bebinca, habagat is forecasted to bring heavy rains over MIMAROPA, Western Visayas, Sorsogon, Masbate, Negros Occidental, and moderate to heavy rains in Metro Manila, CALABARZON, the rest of Bicol, and parts of Mindanao.

Over the weekend until midday Monday, heavy to intense rains are projected over MIMAROPA and parts of Bicol Region, Western Visayas, and Negros Island Region while moderate to heavy rains may also be experienced in Metro Manila and parts of Central Luzon and Mindanao.

Several provinces in these regions have been placed under heavy rainfall warnings, with flooding reported in some areas. PAGASA stations in southern Luzon recorded the heaviest rainfall between 8 a.m. September 12 and 8 a.m. September 13.
