PAGASA warns of rain, thunderstorms in Bicol, Visayas, Ilocos

Three weather systems will bring rain and thunderstorms to various parts of the Philippines on Friday, January 3, according to PAGASA's latest forecast.

Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, Quezon, Apayao, Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Ilocos Region, and the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region and Cagayan Valley will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to easterlies and a shear line.

Batanes will have cloudy skies with rain caused by the Northeast Monsoon (Amihan), while Metro Manila and the rest of the country can expect partly cloudy skies with isolated rain showers.

PAGASA issued a heavy rainfall warning for Cagayan and Isabela, warning of moderate to heavy rains from January 2 to 3.

Moderate winds with rough coastal waters may be expected over Northern Luzon, while light to moderate winds with slight to moderate seas are forecasted for the rest of the country.

PAGASA reported no low-pressure area being monitored inside and around the Philippine area of responsibility as of Thursday afternoon.
