Pagasa warns of rain, thunderstorms, and potential floods this week

The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) has issued an advisory warning of rainy conditions this weekend and into early next week due to a shear line and intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ).

On Sunday, December 29, cloudy skies with rains and thunderstorms are expected across the country.

Moderate to heavy rainfall (50 to 100 millimeters) is anticipated in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Palawan on Monday, December 30.

On Tuesday, December 31, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, and Surigao del Sur will experience moderate to heavy rainfall.

Pagasa warned of potential localized flooding in urbanized, low-lying, and coastal areas due to the expected rain, as well as possible landslides in highly susceptible regions.
