Habagat brings heavy rains to parts of Luzon and Visayas through Friday

The southwest monsoon or 'habagat' continues to cause heavy rain in parts of Luzon and Visayas since Tuesday evening, August 27, with similar conditions expected through Friday, August 30.

PAGASA forecasts cloudy skies with isolated rain showers over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas on Friday due to the ongoing habagat.

Zambales, Bataan, Occidental Mindoro, and Palawan will have cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms, increasing the risk of flash floods or landslides due to moderate to heavy rains.

Metro Manila, Western Visayas, Ilocos Region, Cavite, Batangas, and Negros Occidental will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, with potential for flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

The rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms, posing a risk for flash floods or landslides during severe storms.
