Enteng prompts heavy rain warnings for Metro Manila and Luzon

On Wednesday morning, Tropical Storm Enteng (Yagi) prompted heavy rainfall warnings for Metro Manila and other parts of Luzon, with an orange warning in effect for Metro Manila, Bataan, Pampanga, Bulacan, and Zambales, and a yellow warning for Tarlac, Cavite, Rizal, Batangas, and parts of Metro Manila.

Areas under the orange warning are expected to receive between 15 mm and 30 mm of rain over the next three hours, posing a threat of flooding. Meanwhile, flood-prone areas in yellow-warning regions may experience possible flooding with rainfall between 7.5 mm and 15 mm.

Pagasa reported that Enteng intensified into a severe tropical storm on Tuesday afternoon, maintaining its strength with maximum sustained winds of 80 km/h and gusts up to 100 km/h. The storm is forecast to continue moving northwest at 25 kph over Ilocos Norte waters.

Light to moderate rains are affecting Nueva Ecija, Quezon, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Cavite, Bulacan, and parts of Metro Manila which may persist within three hours.
