Habagat causes floods, suspends classes and work in NCR

Heavy rains from the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat) caused up to waist-deep floods in parts of Metro Manila on Wednesday morning.

The MMDA reported several areas with impassable conditions, including E. Rodriguez Avenue near Araneta Avenue where waters were knee-deep and not passable to light vehicles.

Quezon City also experienced flooding with Commonwealth Avenue after Philcoa eastbound submerged up to the gutters but still passable to all types of vehicles.

Malabon City and Navotas saw minor flooding in some barangays, with water levels ranging from 1 to 5 inches deep.

Due to severe weather conditions, classes in public schools and work in government agencies were suspended throughout the National Capital Region.
