Robredo endorses Pacquiao, Abalos despite Uniteam rift

Manny Pacquiao and Benhur Abalos, senatorial candidates for Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, have received endorsements from political heavyweights, including former vice president Leni Robredo.

Robredo endorsed both candidates during her house-to-house outreach in Naga City, where she is running for mayor, praising Pacquiao as kind and trustworthy.

Abalos was also backed by former president Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo on Facebook, highlighting his support during EDSA Dos and asking for help to become senator.

Robredo's endorsement of Marcos' allies comes amid the breakdown of the Uniteam alliance between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Sara Duterte.

Despite their rivalry in the 2022 presidential elections, Robredo expressed her continued support for Pacquiao and Abalos, describing Abalos as a friend who quietly assisted Naga City after Severe Tropical Storm Kristine.
