PDEA seizes PHP56.37B worth of drugs, arrests over 131K suspects

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported seizing illegal drugs worth PHP56.37 billion from July 1, 2022 to January 31, 2025.

During this period, the agency confiscated various types of narcotics including 7,298.23 kilograms of shabu, 89.19 kg of cocaine, 121,022 ecstasy tablets, and 6,247.70 kg of marijuana.

The PDEA also arrested over 131,578 drug suspects, including nearly 8,404 high-value targets in more than 97,406 operations.

Additionally, PDEA operatives dismantled 1,304 drug dens and two clandestine shabu laboratories.

Despite the seizures and arrests, the number of 'drug-cleared' barangays remained at 29,390 while 'drug-affected' barangays stood at 6,113 due to a moratorium on the Barangay Drug Clearing Program during the election period.
