Power Restoration Progress in Super Typhoon Rolly-Affected Areas

As of Thursday morning, the National Electrification Administration (NEA) reported that 52.27% or 1,093,421 households have had power restored in Super Typhoon Rolly-affected regions in Southern Luzon and Visayas.

Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi committed to restoring full electricity before Christmas, emphasizing the urgency of the situation as Christmas approaches.

The DOE faces challenges in assessing the extent of damage due to difficulty accessing hard-hit areas, hindering a definite timeline for full restoration.

As of Monday evening, PHP2.8 billion worth of energy infrastructure was damaged by Rolly, primarily electric posts and transmission lines, with partial restoration efforts underway.
