Over 72K Bicol families evacuate due to Paeng

Over 72,000 families were evacuated across the Bicol region due to Severe Tropical Storm Paeng.

As of Saturday morning, Camarines Sur had the highest number of evacuees with 41,675 individuals followed by Albay with 23,408 persons.

In Zambales, 86 residents from Subic town were evacuated to a flood-prone area in Barangay Wawandue on Saturday.

Preemptive evacuations began as early as Friday morning in high-risk areas of Camarines Sur and Albay due to continuous heavy rains and flooding.

As of Thursday, over 100 people were already evacuated from hazard-prone areas in several towns in Camarines Sur as Paeng intensified.
