Central Luzon LGUs intensify preparations for TS Paeng

Local government units in Central Luzon are intensifying preparations for Tropical Storm Paeng to ensure the safety of residents.

Disaster risk reduction and management councils in seven provinces -- Aurora, Bataan, Bulacan, Nueva Ecija, Tarlac, Pampanga, and Zambales -- have been activated.

Aurora raised its Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Operations Center status to red alert for continuous coordination with agencies and monitoring of the situation.

The provincial government of Aurora enforced a 'no sailing' policy for fisherfolk and boat owners as Paeng approaches, declaring a red alert status.

Governor Christian Noveras directed all municipal disaster risk reduction offices to prepare emergency protocols and consider preemptive evacuations in high-risk areas.
