TD Paeng forms, brings heavy rain over PH this weekend

Tropical Depression Paeng formed east of Eastern Visayas on Wednesday.

Paeng is expected to bring heavy rains over parts of the country this weekend, particularly in Bicol Region and Eastern Visayas starting Friday.

The trough of Paeng and shear line will cause scattered rain showers and thunderstorms in the Visayas, Mimaropa, Bicol, Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Soccsksargen, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, Dinagat Islands, Quezon, Agusan del Norte, and Surigao del Norte.

Flash floods or landslides are likely due to moderate to heavy rains in these areas.

Paeng is forecast to move northwestward on Saturday evening and may pass close to Northern Luzon on Sunday or Monday with a possible landfall scenario.
