Over 4,500 PNP, BFP deployed for 'Odette' response

Over 4,500 PNP and BFP personnel have been deployed for disaster response in Visayas and Mindanao due to Typhoon Odette.

As of Tuesday, the DILG reported that 2,431 police officers from the PNP and 2,125 firefighters from the BFP were mobilized.

The PNP has also conducted 41 rescue operations, rescuing 563 individuals and providing security in 7,201 evacuation centers housing over 100,000 people.

Five PNP facilities were damaged by the typhoon, affecting 210 personnel.

PNP chief Gen. Dionardo Carlos stated that communications have been restored with affected units to ensure effective command and control for relief operations.
