Philippines Reports Over 2,800 New COVID-19 Cases, Total Now at 329,637

The Philippines reported 2,825 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, October 7, bringing the total number of infections to 329,637.

Metro Manila recorded the highest number of new cases at 1,031, followed by Cavite and Batangas.

Total recoveries increased to 273,723 with 437 more patients recovering from the disease, while the death toll rose to 5,925 after 60 new fatalities were reported.

The DOH also reclassified 14 cases previously tagged as recovered as deaths.

Active cases stand at 47,655, with most being mild (85.6%), followed by asymptomatic (9.5%), severe (1.4%), and critical (3.4%) cases.
