DOLE provides PHP5B cash aid to over 1M workers

As of Thursday, May 7, over one million workers have received cash aid from DOLE's social amelioration programs amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

The assistance includes PHP4.44 billion from regular budget and PHP1.05 billion from emergency funds, benefiting both formal and informal sector workers including OFWs.

DOLE is wrapping up its CAMP and TUPAD/Displaced Workers programs, with 74% of the target beneficiaries under AKAP program already qualified for aid.

In Western Visayas, 20,006 workers have received PHP5,000 each as part of the CAMP program, totaling over PHP100 million disbursed to 1,061 establishments in the region.

In Central Luzon, 116,368 workers from 5,428 private establishments have benefited from CAMP with a total disbursement of PHP581.84 million.
