CBCP urges gov't, business to aid workers during pandemic

The Catholic Bishops' Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) called on the government and private sector to take more concrete actions to help workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Bishop Jose Colin Bagaforo, CBCP's social action arm NASSA/Caritas national director, stated that while the government has provided relief packages, these are only temporary solutions to labor problems.

Bagaforo also urged for just policies and inclusive compensation packages, particularly for informal workers, highlighting that over two million workers have lost their jobs in a month due to the pandemic.
