Ong misses Senate hearing due to health issues

Cassandra Li Ong missed the Senate Justice panel's hearing on Thursday due to health issues, as confirmed by a letter from the House of Representatives.

The letter stated that Ong is unwell and may need hospitalization for 2 to 3 days, based on medical advice during Wednesday night’s House Quad Committee hearing where she was excused due to low blood sugar and blood pressure.

Ong is under investigation for her alleged involvement in the escape of former Bamban Mayor Alice Guo and her companions, which involved Ong according to Senate inquiries.

Previously placed under House custody after being deported from Indonesia alongside Shiela (Alice's sister), Ong admitted to being the authorized representative of Lucky South 99 but denied involvement in its illegal activities.

Ong faces money laundering charges with Alice Guo and others, while Shiela is currently detained at the Senate and Ong remains under House custody.
