IATF endorses DOLE's P1.5B proposal for OFWs hit by COVID-19

The Inter-Agency Task Force on Emerging Infectious Diseases has endorsed a DOLE proposal to release P1.5 billion for financial assistance to overseas Filipino workers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

A portion of this fund, worth P35 million, was initially released to local workers in both formal and informal sectors.

OFWs will receive a one-time cash aid of USD200 (over PHP10,000) if they submit their certificate of employment issued by their agencies for evaluation and processing by POLO or OWWA.
