Over 100k workers displaced due to quarantine

Over 100,000 workers have been displaced due to the enhanced community quarantine implemented to curb the spread of COVID-19.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) reported that 2,317 establishments covering 108,620 workers have enforced flexible work arrangements or temporary closures.

More than 40 percent of displaced workers are in the National Capital Region, with another 41,450 affected in Regions III and IV-A.

A total of 889 companies covering 41,331 workers have switched to flexible work arrangements such as telecommuting or reduced workdays.

Another 600 companies resorted to temporary closures, affecting an additional 30,796 workers.
