DOH announces perks for volunteer health care workers

The Department of Health (DOH) announced additional benefits and perks for volunteer health care workers responding to the coronavirus pandemic.

Volunteers will receive special wages, free food, accommodation during service and quarantine period, and a daily allowance under Republic Act No. 11469.

Public and private health workers who contract severe COVID-19 while on duty will receive PHP1 million if they die or PHP100,000 for medical expenses covered by PhilHealth.
