Oftana earns fourth Player of the Week award

Calvin Oftana earned his fourth PBA Press Corps-Pilipinas Live Player of the Week award this season for his outstanding performance in Game 2 of TNT's Philippine Cup semifinal series with Rain or Shine.

Despite teammate RR Pogoy's injury, Oftana scored a crucial 39 points, hitting three late free throws that forced overtime and seven more in the extra period, securing a 113-105 victory for TNT.

Oftana's contributions were critical as he took over in Pogoy's absence, emphasizing teamwork and determination between them.

Reporters covering the PBA beat chose Oftana over other notable players like Jamie Malonzo, Scottie Thompson, and Anton Asistio for his consistent scoring and rebounding, putting him ahead once more in the race for the Order of Merit honor at season's end.

With a 2-1 lead but facing a resilient Rain or Shine squad, Oftana emphasized that TNT is not done yet and must continue to move forward towards their goal of making the finals for a third consecutive conference.
