OCTA: NCR's daily COVID growth rate down to 3%, reproduction number at 3.22

The daily growth rate of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has decreased steadily to 3%, down from 5% previously, according to OCTA Research.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David predicts around 16 to 18k cases on Saturday and 15 to 16k cases on Sunday if this trend continues.

The reproduction number of the virus also decreased to 3.22 as of January 11, indicating a slower pace in case increase compared to earlier readings.

On January 12, Dr. David noted that NCR's COVID reproduction rate had dipped to 4.69 from 6.16 on January 2, signaling a potential slowdown in transmission but noting uncertainty about whether cases have peaked.
