NCR COVID-19 positivity rate hits 52%, IATF may place region under AL4

The COVID-19 positivity rate in the National Capital Region (NCR) has increased to 52%, according to OCTA Research.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David noted that testing is becoming strained at this level, making it difficult to track the pandemic situation accurately.

David also stated that daily cases nationwide could reach 35,000 by January, with around 20,000 coming from NCR.

The IATF-EID will discuss possibly placing NCR under Alert Level 4 due to the high positivity rate and increasing number of cases.
