OCTA: NCR's COVID-19 growth rate declines to 14%

The one-week growth rate of COVID-19 cases in the National Capital Region (NCR) has declined to 14%, according to OCTA Research on Wednesday.

OCTA fellow Dr. Guido David noted that NCR's growth rate decreased from 21% recorded on July 26 to 14% on August 2, with the reproduction number dropping from 1.33 to 1.24.

Despite these positive trends, the seven-day average of cases increased to 1,209 from last week's 1,057 and the daily attack rate rose to 8.39 per 100,000 population from 7.34.

NCR remains under moderate risk with a healthcare utilization rate of 38% and an ICU occupancy rate of 30%. OCTA expressed hope that cases will peak soon.
