NUNS clinches UAAP boys' volleyball crown in comeback victory over UE

National University Nazareth School (NUNS) reclaimed the UAAP boys' volleyball championship on Monday by defeating the University of the East in four sets, 20-25, 25-16, 27-25, 25-21, at the FilOil EcoOil Centre.

Despite losing Game 2, NUNS bounced back with a decisive victory in Game 3 to clinch their championship title after winning Game 1 and securing the crucial third set.

Coach Edgar Barroga expressed that this win was particularly sweet as it came after a season where they had lost the title, emphasizing the importance of staying focused and not getting emotional during the game.

Setter Jeffe Gallego Jr. and middle blocker Miguel Egger were key players in securing the crucial third set, with Gallego being named Finals MVP for his outstanding performance.

The Bullpups' victory marked the end of high school careers for eight graduating members, including Gallego, who praised Coach Barroga's unwavering support throughout their journey.
