NU wins women's, HS taekwondo titles; DLSU clinches men's crown

National University reclaimed both the women's and high school divisions in the UAAP taekwondo championship of Season 87 with perfect records at the Rizal Memorial Coliseum on Thursday.

The Lady Bulldogs ended University of Santo Tomas' two-year reign, securing their first title since winning four consecutive championships from Seasons 79 to 82 (2016-2019), after a decisive victory over UST.

Veronica Garces, a bantamweight and current master's student in health and physical education, was named season MVP for her contributions.

Carlos Padilla, the taekwondo program head at NU, expressed pride in his team's performance and emphasized their focus on continuous improvement.

De La Salle University won its first men's division title since Season 76 (2013), led by Johnson Rosario who was named tournament MVP.
