NU Lady Bulldogs clinch fourth straight finals in UAAP volleyball

The National University (NU) Lady Bulldogs secured their fourth consecutive finals appearance in the UAAP Season 87 women's volleyball tournament with a thrilling reverse-sweep victory over Far Eastern University (FEU) on Saturday, May 3.

Despite falling behind early by scores of 20-25 and 22-25, NU rallied to win three straight sets, including a decisive fifth set, 17-15, for the comeback triumph.

Bella Belen led the Lady Bulldogs with another big triple-double performance of 23 points, 14 digs, and 10 excellent receptions; Alyssa Solomon contributed 21 points, while rookie Lovely Lopez tried to save the day for FEU but fell short.

FEU's Gerzel Petallo acknowledged NU’s resilience in overcoming a two-set deficit, praising their champion mentality despite back-to-back Final Four heartbreaks against the Lady Bulldogs.

With this win, NU secures their fourth consecutive finals ticket and will face either La Salle or University of Santo Tomas, who are currently battling it out for the last finals spot.
