NU wins first UAAP baseball title in 12 years

National University secured their first UAAP baseball championship in 12 years by defeating De La Salle University, winning Game 2 of Season 86 Finals with a score of 4-2 on Sunday.

The Bulldogs completed the sweep in the best-of-three series after winning the first game 8-4 last Thursday, earning their fourth overall title and fourth championship this season across different sports.

Head coach Romar Landicho praised his team's dedication and hard work, emphasizing how they turned their skills into success by focusing on defense throughout the game.

NU pitcher Amiel De Guzman sealed the victory with a strikeout in the final inning, while veteran MJ Carolino started and played seven innings to earn Finals MVP honors in his last collegiate game.

The Bulldogs' comeback from an early deficit showcased their resilience, ultimately reclaiming their throne as champions of UAAP baseball.
