NU men’s basketball beats La Salle despite losing FSA

National University's men's basketball team faced significant challenges after losing their foreign student-athlete (FSA) Mo Diassana due to an injury in their first game.

Despite early struggles, NU managed to win three of their four second-round matchups against teams currently in the Final Four: UST, UP, and La Salle, earning distinction as the only team to beat both powerhouses.

Coach Jeff Napa expressed pride in his team's performance, noting that they adjusted well despite losing Diassana and showed promise for future seasons, particularly with players like Jake Figueroa and PJ Palacielo stepping up.

In their final game of the season, NU defeated La Salle 63-54, with key players Figueroa and Palacielo contributing significantly.

Napa emphasized the importance of using this season's experiences as motivation to improve next year, highlighting the potential rise of young players like Figueroa, Palacielo, and others, while also noting the need for added depth and health.
