National University extends perfect record to 9–0, UST wins eighth game

National University and the University of Santo Tomas continued their strong performances in the UAAP Season 87 women's basketball tournament on Sunday.

National University extended its perfect record to 9-0 with an 82-62 victory over Ateneo, led by rookie Cielo Pagdulagan's impressive all-around game with 16 points, seven assists, six rebounds, and five steals without committing a turnover.

Aloha Betanio added 11 points for NU, while Gypsey May Canuto contributed 11 points and four rebounds.

Defending champion University of Santo Tomas secured its eighth win in nine games with an 84-57 triumph over the University of the Philippines, led by Tacky Tacatac's 23 points.
