NegOr IATF seeks additional isolation hubs as hospital beds fill up

The Negros Oriental Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) is identifying additional isolation facilities as hospital beds allocated for COVID-19 patients are already full.

Dr. Liland Estacion, assistant provincial health officer and incident commander for COVID-19 in Negros Oriental, said a hotel and dormitories are being considered as alternative isolation sites for mild and moderate cases.

Severe cases will still be admitted to hospitals, but the person who has to be quarantined will have to pay for their accommodation at the designated facility.

Palace spokesperson Secretary Harry Roque stated that temporary health workers may be sent to Negros Oriental if needed due to high COVID-19 case numbers.

Roque added that all regions are being monitored by the IATF and Department of Health, with quarantine classifications revised monthly based on current conditions.
