DOH flags increase in COVID-19 cases across several regions

The DOH on Monday flagged an increase in COVID-19 cases across several areas in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire said the number of new daily cases exceeded 7,000 for three consecutive days.

Vergeire noted that while Metro Manila's case count has slowed down, other regions are experiencing a rise in infections; specifically, Regions 4B, 6, 1, 10, 11, and Caraga have seen increases in cases and hospital occupancy.

The DOH is closely monitoring these areas as their healthcare utilization approaches high-risk levels.
