Vaccinated front-liners test positive in NegOr

Two vaccinated medical front-liners in Negros Oriental tested positive for Covid-19.

Dr. Liland Estacion, Assistant Provincial Health Officer, stated that she needs to validate the brand of vaccine given to these individuals and will also verify if a third front-liner who contracted the virus was previously vaccinated.

Vaccine manufacturers claim their products do not guarantee against infection but are highly effective in preventing severe illness and death.

Negros Oriental is preparing to vaccinate senior citizens, with Estacion instructing rural health units and city/municipal health offices to compile lists of eligible seniors.

However, the province has yet to receive a new supply of vaccines from the national government and currently prioritizes second doses for healthcare workers.
