Philippines expects 2M COVID-19 vaccines in April or May

The Philippines expects two million doses of COVID-19 vaccines from Sinovac and Gamaleya in April or May, according to presidential spokesperson Harry Roque.

As of Thursday, the country has received 2.525 million vaccine doses -- two million from Sinovac and 525,600 from AstraZeneca.

Vaccine czar Carlito Galvez Jr. said the government is working on securing second doses for those who have already received their first shots of the AstraZeneca vaccine through direct arrangements with the company if COVAX Facility shipments are delayed.
