NegOcc, Bacolod get 362-bed isolation facilities

The province of Negros Occidental and Bacolod City will receive 362-bed isolation facilities from the national government to combat the rising number of COVID-19 cases.

A memorandum of agreement was signed by Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson, Mayor Evelio Leonardia, Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and Undersecretary Emil Sadain for the construction of these facilities expected to be completed early next month.

The DPWH report shows that 253 beds will be distributed across various parts of Negros Occidental while Bacolod City will receive 109 beds.

Additionally, Governor Lacson has increased patient capacity in two district hospitals to a total of 160 beds by designating the Valladolid District Hospital as the second hospital dedicated to COVID-19 patients with 50 beds allocated for positive cases.
