Gov't targets 1M daily jabs to fight Delta variant

The government aims to administer 1 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines daily as part of efforts to accelerate vaccination amid the threat of the Delta variant.

As of Sunday, nearly 24.5 million vaccine doses have been administered across the country with an average of 516,061 doses per day in the last week.

A total of 13.1 million individuals received their first dose while 11.4 million are fully vaccinated.

Adults with comorbidities account for the largest group of vaccine recipients, with over 4.2 million having completed both doses.
