NCR granular lockdown areas rise to 105

The number of areas under granular lockdown in Metro Manila increased from 71 on Monday, October 18, to 98 on Tuesday, and further rose to 105 by Wednesday, October 20.

As of Wednesday, the PNP reported that these locked down areas are located across 58 barangays and include 57 houses, 28 residential buildings, 12 subdivisions or villages, and six residential building floors.

Local government units (LGUs) have the authority to impose or lift granular lockdowns based on the presence of a single COVID-19 case in a house or condominium floor.

To enforce security and health standards, the PNP has deployed 322 personnel and 251 force multipliers to these areas.

The Department of Social Welfare and Development provided food packs to affected families, with at least 617 households impacted by granular lockdowns across Metro Manila.
