Metro Manila Downgraded to Alert Level 3

Metro Manila will be under Alert Level 3 from October 16 to 31, allowing businesses to operate at higher capacity.

The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) is optimistic about the country's economic growth target of 4% to 5%, citing the relaxation in alert levels.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque stated that there is no conclusion yet on whether the alert level system is more effective than community quarantines, so implementation remains limited to Metro Manila.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) approved stricter measures in other regions while relaxing restrictions in some areas.
